I have acquired an extensive background in the craft and artistic fields.
It has always been a question in my mind as to what to call my particular work.
Driving off the ferry onto Denman Island, you encounter a steep hill. If you drive straight ahead after the road levels out, you’ll pass a little cafe, a real estate office, and the next building is the Denman Craft Shop.
A conversation with John Tallerino and Marc Randall:
“I find installations interesting, because we have so much stuff in the world, in our everyday lives. Whether you go to free stores, Walmarts, people give you stuff constantly. Alley-ways filled with people’s junk. There’s just constant junk. So I find objects very interesting, they symbolize all the stuff that we have, or hoard, or collect.”
I’m a longtime admirer of Cathy Stoyko’s work.
